Port of #386 to 1.21.1.
I didn't do it exactly to open this PR, but to validate the change using Controlify. It worked as intended, although Controlify + BetterThirdPerson is buggy. Not related to your mod, though, dodge worked as a charm.
I'm just opening this PR in case this may make your port work easier.
