OpenGauntlet

An affordable (<$20 of electronics) two finger gauntlet with a mounted IMU and a thumb buttom. Rotary encoders used for finger position measurements and tactile feedback. This build runs on an ESP32, but any microcontroller with USB serial will work as long as it outputs the same protocol.

This was a one day hackathon project. Currently it doesn't fit a lot of hands because it was modeled after my own, but I will update it to fit more sizes in the future :)

  • 1x Adafruit 9DOF IMU Breakout Board - FXOS8700 + FXAS21002

  • Misc. Wires

  • 4x M2.5 * 12mm screws

  • 5x M3 * 12mm screws

  • 2x M4 * 12mm screws

  • Hot Glue or Soldering Iron
  • Foam Sheet
