By() calls without a callback only emit ByStart, never ByEnd. findByEventEnd returns nil → step.Start and step.Stop stayed 0 (Unix epoch). Now step.Start is set unconditionally from the ByStart event; callback-less steps show start==stop (0ms, correct for markers) instead of timestamp 0.
