Parts (Konstruction)
Umbra Space Industries introduces it's yellowest venture yet Konstruction! Konstruction adds new parts and game mechanics to KSP centered around base and orbital construction! Build pats or ships, connect them together, and move them around.
Design your assembly in the VAB, cut it up and add ports, reassemble in-situ.
Great for large bases and stations, or building larger vessels in orbit!
Note: These parts are introduced in the Constellation 2021.03.21.01 Pre-Release
KonFabricators allow you to create any part and work with it using the stock inventory system while KonStructors allow you to build entire vessels. When paired with WOLF Hoppers, they can be used in remarkably compact stations to build large vessels.
Use the KonFabricator menu to build individual parts. In the dialog,
- Choose the part Category
- Choose the specific part
- If you have enough
MaterialKits
,SpecializedParts
, and volume, click the Start KonFabricator! button.
The part instantly appears in the first available stock inventory slot.
Vessels are created using the KonStructor dialog in three easy steps:
- Select the ship from those available in the VAB or SPH
- Review the materials required for this build
- Click the Build! button
After a few seconds, the ship will appear in space near the KonStructor. You can then use local logistics to transfer resources such as Supplies
or fuel to the new vessel.
There are three parts that provide KonFabricator and KonStructor capabilities
The KF-250 KonFabricator provides two other capabilities:

- Dekonstructor mode allows you to convert the parts in the inventory slots into their basic materials, such as
MaterialKits
, provided you have enough storage for the resulting materials.
Konstruction adds the ability to Clamp-O-Tron Jr, Sr, and standard docking ports that allows them to be fused. No additional parts are required. When to ports are docked, use the "Compress Parts" or "Compress Parts (Rotate)". In a puff of smoke, the docks will be removed and the parent parts will be joined together in their place.
The following parts are being deprecated and will no longer be included with this mod. This section will be removed at a future date.
