There are 74 death dialogues in the game, and 75th death is the "bad" ending (not really bad, but dying to get an ending usually gets labelled as such)
Most players won't hear even half of those. In fact, most death dialogues will be skipped. The others? They will have finished the game lol
So, there is the returning players, who may play again and again, dying again and again. But for them, the same earlygame voicelines play which is boring and this ensures they will be skipped.
An alternative way of what im trying to say: "Everyone will hear death dialogue 1 fully. Many will hear death dialogue 3 fully. None will hear death dialogue 74 fully."
So, how to solve it? Globalize death counter.
So it goes like this:
First game, you die 20 times, and finish it.
Second game, when you die, you will hear the 21st death dialogue, not the 1st death dialogue.
Benefits?
Fresh voicelines each playthrough
Fits the overarching theme of the game
Links your actions of previous games, to current, aka choices matter a bit more, and makes for an overarching story aka continuation of last game (ending 😉 )
"bad" ending, is now a threatening possibility, instead of "lol i can die 50+ times and still no bad ending? EZ GAME"
And lastly, you can easily stretch this to the powerup dialogue, which also has tons of voicelines.
