Frequently Asked Questions

What are your goals associated with this project?

  • Improve team-building and communication skills
  • Create an inspiring design, something that doesn't look like it was made by high-schoolers
  • Learn how to utilize node modules effectively with Yarn and Browserify
  • "Push the web to its limits" by integrating advanced features like page transitions and 3D animations
  • Get 1st Place at Nationals
  • Inspire the next generation of Hebron TSA

If this is a competitive event, why are you making your code public?

In the spirit of improving web design and development amongst all TSA members and high schoolers, we have decided to make our code public. Moreover, by making our code public, we will be able to show our different Webmaster projects each competitive season and encourage abidance to the rule put in place by the TSA stating that "all design, content, and markup/code must be the product of the current school year."

So... I can just copy your code, right?

Technically, yes. However, because our code is so explicitly public, don't be surprised when you get caught cheating or breaking competition regulations. Instead of copying, we challenge all TSA members to utilize their creativity and create sites that surpass the level of this one. Also keep in mind that the website alone is not what determines your score or placement. We think the reason why we placed so high at Nationals last year was because of our thorough documentation, ability to articulate in the interview, and genuine passion for our project.
