The Advisor Playbook — 5 Decision Frameworks for B2B Owners and Concentrated Investors

Adapted from Howard Marks and Marc Andreessen. Five AI-ready decision frameworks that run daily inside Strategy Sprints via 5 advisors and 30 agents. Free. MIT-licensed. Steal them.

Last quarter, these 5 frameworks saved us from two bad trades, killed two underperforming cold-email campaigns, and moved one private client from $1.3M to $3M/year in 90 days. 144x ROI on our fee.

The 5 frameworks

For investors (3 rituals)

  1. Kill Triggers — pre-commit the numerical conditions that would flip any holding from HOLD to SELL. One of ours fired this quarter. Out in 5 days instead of 5 months.
  2. The Un-Buy Review — quarterly: would I buy this today? If no, it is a sell. Closes the gap between rich buy signals and thin sell discipline.
  3. The Temperature Gauge — weekly market reading. Widens buy and sell zones at RED-HOT or COLD extremes. Standard rules do not apply there.

For B2B sales teams (1 reframe)

  1. Task-Loss, Not Job-Loss — the reframe that neutralizes the #1 objection from owners buying AI sales systems. Currently in a 50-send A/B test against our control cold email.

For founders (1 diagnostic)

  1. The Fungibility Test — 5 questions that tell a founder if AI is going to sort them out of their own business. Signature Jetpack intake tool.

Who this is for

  • B2B owners, 5-10 employees. Installing AI and tired of deciding on vibes.
  • Concentrated investors, 8-15 quality holdings. Rich buy rules, thin sell discipline.
  • Founders who want to be non-fungible in 9 months.
  • Operators and PE firms tracking a portfolio of small-to-medium businesses that need AI discipline.

Who this is not for

  • Fortune 500 teams. Different playbook.
  • Anyone whose AI strategy is buying 40 SaaS subscriptions.
  • Index-fund investors. Temperature Gauge does not apply.

Install

Claude Code

git clone https://github.com/SimonTheSalesBooster/advisor-playbook ~/code/advisor-playbook

Each framework is a plain markdown file with inputs, process, and output format. Paste into any Claude session, or symlink the one you run most into ~/.claude/commands/:

ln -s ~/code/advisor-playbook/investing/kill-triggers.md ~/.claude/commands/kill-triggers.md

Cursor, Windsurf, ChatGPT, any agent runtime

The frameworks are agent-agnostic. Drop into whatever prompt-library the runtime supports.

Run them free. Install them with us if you want the full stack.

The markdown files are the whole framework. Run them for 30 days. If after 30 days you want the agents that run them on autopilot, the advisors that review the outputs, and the self-improving loops that make them smarter weekly, that is the Jetpack Series.

The source material

  • Howard Marks Extraction — 4 ideas from his 2026 Wharton lecture that directly changed our systems.
  • Andreessen Framings — 12 models from Marc Andreessen's April 2026 Lenny's Podcast interview, ranked by leverage. Shows which 3 we shipped and which 9 we considered and rejected.

FAQ

Is this free? Yes. MIT-licensed. Fork, remix, take it to your own team or investment committee.

Do I need Claude Code? No. The frameworks are markdown. Paste into any capable LLM. Claude Code makes them feel native via slash commands.

Is this investment advice? No. These are personal decision frameworks used by the author. Consult a licensed advisor for your specific situation.

Why Howard Marks and Andreessen specifically? Marks for risk-adjusted cycle thinking (the temperature, the asymmetries). Andreessen for naming what is actually happening in tech-enabled markets. Two lenses, 2026-relevant.

Can I modify these for my own firm or fund? Yes. Fork, adapt, add internal-specific sections. If you build something useful, open a PR.
