16.8.8 - Enable editing of MoCA, additional Wifi settings and TR-069
Note: This is NOT an official release of this firmware. This is my own modifications based off the open-source firmware here:
http://opensource.actiontec.com/sourcecode/wcb3000x/wecb3000n_gpl_0.16.8.4.tgz
There is no warranty implied, nor tech support available here. If you'd like to contribute to this, please send pull requests. Also note that this is a fork of Actiontec's 16.8.4, my boxes originally came with 16.8.6 and there's reports of 16.8.5 in the wild. I have no idea what the differences are between 16.8.4, 5 and 6, but they are not included here, as Actiontec hasn't published firmware for those. However, to avoid conflicts I started the versioning here at 16.8.7.
------ Release Notes -----
This re-enables editing of the MoCA settings, and shows some previously hidden wifi settings such as enabling/disabling the radio and also allows setting to any channel (which was previously limited to 1,6 or 11). It also exposes a left-nav menu item under Advanced Setup for TR-069 settings (e.g. phone-home functionality) which can be disabled or changed as necessary.
It does not show the multiple SSID options, as I haven't figured out how the public/private SSIDs were meant to work.
Note: I have tested this on exactly two WCB3000Ns, which previously had firmware 0.16.8.6 on them. I have no idea if it would work on other versions of this device (Retail, Comcast, NCS, Telus, Brighthouse, Verizon). Use at your own risk, if it breaks you get to keep both pieces, etc.
It was compiled with a stock Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32-bit virtual machine
