- Separate the sections of the panel and clean up the connection points (two of the pannels are for the sounder unit and are not needed for this build)
- check and trim any mechanical connections
- Remove radi on back of paddle PCB sections where the mounting lugs connect
- provide a slight chamfer on the edges of the mounting lugs on paddles
- ensure audio jack and switch fit in holes and adjust if required
- Solder SMT components on back of front panel
- Solder paddles to the PCB.
- install the audio jack and switch into the front panel.
- Solder the audio jack to the points on the back of the panel and the switch to the vcc point.
- Solder the battery pack into the unit with the switch in series (you may wish to test fit into the housing to get the correct cable lengths).
- Test the key functions.
- Remove the case PCB mounts (a razor saw works well) that collide with the switch and audio jack.
- Install PCB and battery compartment into top of case (optionally glue a ribbon under the battery compartment to aid in battery removal).
- Place bottom of case over assembly and screw down.
- if the front panel moves too much consider gluing it to the top of the case.
- if the key is to light and moves around you can add additional weight on the bottom of the case and/or add some rubber feet to control movement.
