How to thaw a receipt

Here's how:

Thawing (unfreezing) a receipt can be done in several ways:

  • the 'thaw' action of the d3 command with the basename of the receipt you want to thaw.
  • manually installing any edition of the basename (perhaps with --force)
  • uninstalling the receipt

Discussion:

Frozen receipts are ignored during the auto-update part of the sync process. As such, a frozen receipt will never be automatically updated when there's a newer live package on the server.

Thawing resets the receipt to normal, allowing it to be auto-updated at the during sync.

d3admin can be used to report computers with frozen receipts.
