Path to Standardization
This page is were we put the plan on how to reach standardization
Currently we are known as the OpenC2 Forum - a consortium of 33 organizations (twelve of which have signed membership agreements) who collaborate via biweekly teleconferences, full day workshops (once per quarter) and online via slack, googledocs and github.
The day to day business is overseen by an Executive Director (Joe Brule) and supported by an Executive Secretary (Joyce Fai).
From our inception, we have agreed that we should transition our efforts to a formal Standards Development Organization (SDO). We have agreed to approach the OASIS SDO. The decision was based in part on our pre-existing relationship with the professionals working on STIX and TAXII which are sub-committees within the OASIS CTI TC.
Tentatively, we have agreed that we should be our own Technical Committee rather than becoming a sub-committee of a preexisting TC.
Proposed tasks are presented in the table. Request member comments and volunteers.
- Create Charter: A draft is posted at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B2A_XQu_O5s-SmpXVDl4YVVPZmM . Joe Brule will act as editor for the charter
- Identify Co-chairs for the proposed TC. (Maximum of two)
- Identify Secretary for the proposed TC.
- Transition the Language Description Document from 'Release Candidate' to 'Draft'. Jason Romano will act as editor of the LDD
- Announce Date, Time and venue for the Kickoff meeting
