Verify connection coverage, not only the request count.
If the router sends several requests through one ctx/gen pair, this count can be exhausted while another pair remains cold. The code itself notes that routing does not guarantee coverage. A measured request through the cold pair can still include agent-loading latency. Route warmup requests to each required pair, or verify pair coverage before measurement.

Synchronize all warmup writers before recording skip counts.
wait_for_perf_metrics_files waits for the largest file to reach the successful-request count and for all observed files to remain unchanged for three seconds. PerfMetricsJsonlWriter.submit only queues records, and the asynchronous writer has no flush acknowledgment before this snapshot. A queued record from another worker can be written after the snapshot. Because the saved counts are used as leading_lines_to_skip, that record can enter the measured time breakdown.
Add an explicit writer flush/acknowledgment barrier, or require every expected worker file to contain its warmup records before returning. Do not rely on PERF_METRICS_SETTLE_SECONDS unless the writer provides a documented bound shorter than that interval.

Approving — the comments below are optional touch-ups, not blockers.
Checked the cherry-pick against main's merge commit of #18433 (341eb99): the diff under tests/integration/defs/perf/ is byte-identical, and after the merge the three files differ from main only in the two comment blocks the description already notes. Both Python files parse, and everything the new code references (print_warning, ServerConfig.tp/enable_attention_dp, DisaggConfig.benchmark_mode, ClientConfig.to_env, the Failed requests: line in benchmark_serving) exists on release/1.3.
One thing to be explicit about before merging: with the unit test dropped per #20287 and the GB300 disagg PerfSanity stages being post-merge only, nothing in the standard pre-merge pipeline exercises the warmup path on this branch. Please link the --stage-list run (or the first post-merge result) in the PR so the branch has a record that the warmup ran and the e2e lane recovered as it did on main.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win
Calculate warmup requests from the effective worker configurations.
If extra_llm_api_config_path supplies attention DP or tensor-parallel size that the perf YAML omits, ServerConfig can retain its reporting defaults while the worker receives the merged values. For example, a generation worker with eight attention-DP ranks can receive only two warmup requests instead of sixteen. At least six ranks then remain cold before measurement. Read both rank counts from merged_llm_api_config_data() before calculating num_requests. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

PR_Github #78751 [ run ] completed with state |
Description
Cherry-pick of #18433 to release/1.3, for https://nvbugs/6564113 (the bug carries the
Committed TensorRT LLM v1.3.0keyword). It changes the perf-sanity harness only, not product code. The three harness files apply unchanged. The unit test
tests/unittest/others/test_perf_sanity_connection_warmup.pyis left out, because release/1.3 no longer keeps perf-sanity unit tests (#20287).Problem. Since 2026-09-14 the GB300 disagg PerfSanity stages run on oci-jhb and oci-aga instead of aws-cmh. The first request from each gen attention-DP rank makes every rank of a ctx server load that rank's NIXL agent. The transceiver's listener thread does this one peer at a time, about 1.4 s each on those clusters. Without a warmup, this cost falls inside the measured window. On main,
disagg_upload-e2e-gb300_deepseek-v4-pro-fp4_8k1k_con180_ctx3_dep4_gen1_dep32_eplb384_mtp3_ccb-NIXLread a median of about 141K tok/s with p99 TTFT about 39 s, against about 191K before the move.release/1.3 runs the same stages and cases (
l0_gb300_multi_nodes_perf_sanity_ctx3_node1_gpu4_gen1_node8_gpu32,l0_gb300_multi_nodes_perf_sanity_ctx1_node1_gpu4_gen4_node2_gpu8), so its post-merge results have the same cold-start drop.Fix (from #18433).
--ignore-eos, non-streaming. That is 768 requests for the con180 lane and 32 for the con8 lane.Test Coverage
Validated on main (#18433, nvbug comment 10). oci-jhb A/B with the same CI wheel, image and case yaml, where only the harness differed:
#18433's CI run (L0_MergeRequest_PR 63885) passed the GB300 con8 e2e, e2e-time_breakdown and gen_only lanes.
On release/1.3, the three harness files and
tensorrt_llm/serve/scripts/benchmark_serving.pymatch main right before #18433, except for two comment blocks intest_perf_sanity.py, so the same code runs. The GB300 disagg stages are post-merge only, so this PR needs a--stage-listrun to exercise the warmup. pre-commit is clean.PR Checklist
🤖 Generated with Claude Code
Dev Engineer Review
The harness adds a separate warmup before eligible disaggregated e2e measured clients. It sends two short requests per context/generation attention-DP rank pair. It skips warmup for non-e2e, AgentX-only, and accuracy-only clients, and when no eligible client exists. Nonzero exit, timeout, or failure of all requests aborts the test. Partial request failures generate a warning.
For time-breakdown runs, the harness waits for warmup records to settle and excludes those records from aggregation. The metrics reader and CLI accept per-file leading-line skip counts. The benchmark helper accepts a configurable timeout, with the existing default retained. No test-list changes are present. No current review findings were supplied, so severity counts are unavailable.
QA Engineer Review
test_perf_sanity.pymodifies the existingtest_e2eharness; no test function or test ID is added. No dedicated unit test was added in this change.test_e2ecases appear in QA andtest-dblists, including disaggregated e2e and time-breakdown cases.--stage-listrun is still needed to exercise warmup. Reported main-branch CI results do not establish that the release-branch warmup passed.Per-File QA Perspective
tests/integration/defs/perf/README_test_perf_sanity.md— Documents warmup eligibility, failure behavior, logs, nsys iteration ranges, and filtering of warmup records from time-breakdown metrics. It adds no executable test coverage.tests/integration/defs/perf/test_perf_sanity.py— Changes thetest_e2eharness to warm up eligible disaggregated e2e lanes, handle warmup failures, collect warmup logs for diagnostics, and exclude warmup records from aggregation.
