Ready Player Me is one of the most popular avatar builders and is integrated in 1500+ apps. Any avatar created using the Ready Player Me website is under the Creative Commons 4.0 license, allowing non-commercial use.
The Meebits are 20,000 unique 3D voxel characters, created by a custom generative algorithm, then registered on the Ethereum blockchain.

They were the first 3D NFT avatar collection and airdrop to NFT holders (previous Larva Labs NFT holders got to pre-mint). There's 20k meebits distributed amongst 6k addresses. Recently Yuga Labs purchased Meebits from Larva Labs and gave all owners same commercial rights as BAYC and MAYC.
They're also setup in an interesting way on the Larva Labs website where you prove ownership with the NFT and then get access to file storage that can be continuously updated with new files in the future.
