This is the NBT Pass-Through mobile phone app, a Swift-based Xcode project which showcases the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT in the host parameterization via pass-through (PT) use case.
The example application enables an iPhone to perform synchronous NFC communication with a host device holding an embedded OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT. The app is part of the support material to evaluate the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT's PT mode using the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT Development Kit and a mobile phone.
Refer to the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT: Host software overview repository for an overview of the available host software for the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT.

- Example implementation of the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT's PT mode functionality
- Synchronous NFC communication with a host via the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT
- Sample usage of the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT Host Library for Swift (ref v1.1.3)
Dedicated documentation for the whole host software offering of the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT is available on GitHub.io. The online documentation includes an own section to the PT examples which contains a subpage for this iOS app.
For information on how to setup and use this example, refer to the host software documentation.
- NFC-enabled iOS device running iOS 15 or higher
- macOS computer running Xcode (Apple's IDE for Mac and iOS apps)
- Apple Developer account
This project is intended to be loaded and compiled using Xcode. To do so it is sufficient to download and import the project into Xcode (by selecting File -> Open...).
For installing the iOS application to the target mobile phone, it is recommended to use Xcode.
After installation, the iOS app can be started and used to evaluate the OPTIGA™ Authenticate NBT's PT functionality. See host software documentation for more information.
To make sure the mobile phone app works as intended, NFC needs to be enabled on the iOS device. Additionally, the app's permissions must be set correctly.
