About

I am an NLP/AI researcher and research software developer working at the intersection of Natural Language Processing, responsible and explainable AI, digital humanities, and computational social science.

My work focuses on developing practical, reproducible, and accessible tools for analysing language, narratives, speech, and knowledge-rich datasets. I am particularly interested in low-resource languages, computational humanities, and trustworthy AI.

I currently work as a Research Fellow at Lancaster University, contributing to research involving NLP, large language models, responsible AI, explainability, and digital humanities.

Research Interests

  • Natural Language Processing and computational text analysis
  • Large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and evaluation
  • Responsible, trustworthy, and explainable AI
  • Low-resource and African language technologies
  • Digital humanities and computational social science
  • Spatial narrative analysis and geospatial humanities
  • Information extraction and corpus exploration
  • Speech, testimony, emergency communication, and community knowledge

Materials, demonstrations, and research workflows supporting teaching and engagement in AI, computational methods, and spatial humanities.

Resources for the UCREL Summer School covering Natural Language Processing, large language models, responsible AI, and explainable AI.

Current Research Focus

  • Developing reusable NLP and LLM-based tools for humanities and social science research
  • Designing responsible and explainable AI workflows for complex textual collections
  • Advancing language technologies for low-resource and African languages
  • Exploring spatial narratives, testimonies, emergency communication, and community knowledge
  • Translating research prototypes into documented, maintainable, and shareable software
