A userscript to remove AI features from Brave Search. Works on desktop browsers and supported browsers on mobile operating systems.
As the name suggests, the purpose of this script is to remove AI features from Brave's search engine, it does so by adding a CSS stylesheet to hide AI elements as well as adding a cookie on page load for disabling the AI summaries feature. This could be done with a set of uBlock filters but it would be inadequate for disabling the AI summaries as it would only hide them. Massive amounts of energy is wasted on unwanted generative AI features every day and this problem cannot be solved through cosmetic tweaks; filters alone arguably makes this issue even worse as energy is being used with no trade off for the user.
This userscript makes it so these AI features will stay off when cookies are cleared or in Incognito/InPrivate sessions. As a downside, it means running your userscript manager in these sessions which can have negative implications for privacy and security.
