The v0.2.1 release verification exposed two publication hygiene issues:

  • promoting a prerelease did not automatically move GitHub’s Latest pointer, leaving the updater on v0.2.0 until corrected manually
  • staging the formula artifact inside the checkout caused the generated formula PR to include a duplicate candidate/ file

This explicitly marks promoted releases as Latest and stages formula artifacts under the runner temp directory. Workflow YAML parsing and diff checks pass.

Warning

Review limit reached

You’ve reached a temporary PR review limit under our Fair Usage Limits Policy.

Your recent review volume is higher than typical usage, so adaptive limits are currently applied.

Next review available in: 54 minutes

Enable usage-based reviews in Billing to review now. Otherwise, wait until the next included review is available.
You're only billed for reviews past your plan's rate limits ($0.25/file).

How can I continue?

After more reviews become available, a review can be triggered using the @coderabbitai review command as a PR comment. Alternatively, push new commits to this PR.

To avoid repeated limits, reduce automatic review volume by pausing incremental auto-reviews earlier, using label-based review opt-in, excluding WIP or generated PR titles, or requesting reviews manually when the PR is ready. If your team needs uninterrupted high-volume reviews, an organization admin can enable usage-based reviews.

How do review limits work?

CodeRabbit enforces per-developer PR review limits for each organization. Most developers receive the normal plan review availability.

For paid Pro and Pro+ PR reviews, CodeRabbit uses adaptive limits for sustained high-volume activity. When a developer's recent PR review activity reaches the 95th percentile or higher among CodeRabbit users, additional reviews become available more gradually as earlier reviews age out of the rolling window.

Please refer docs for additional details.

Pull request overview

This PR improves release publication hygiene in the GitHub Actions release pipelines by (1) ensuring promoted releases are explicitly marked as GitHub “Latest”, and (2) preventing formula artifact staging inside the checkout so generated Homebrew formula PRs don’t include unintended extra files.

Changes:

  • Download the formula artifact into the runner temp directory (${{ runner.temp }} / $RUNNER_TEMP) and reference it from there for smoke testing and PR creation.
  • When finalizing a release, explicitly mark the promoted release as GitHub “Latest” via gh release edit --latest.
