The latest Hugo version. Install Hugo from gohugo.io. Verify your installation with
hugo version | grep extended
The extended build is required for PostCSS and SCSS to work with this template.
-
Clone the repository along with the Docsy theme submodule
git clone --recurse-submodules --depth 1 https://github.com/DSC-VJTI/a-z-cloud.git
-
Install the required
node_modules
for SCSS and PostCSS to workcd a-z-cloud npm install
-
Build and run the webiste locally
hugo server
The webiste will now be available on
localhost:1313/a-z-cloud/
-
To verify whether your local build will be succesfully deployed, run
hugo -D
If no errors are encountered, this generates a
public
directory
You can run a-z-cloud
inside a Docker
container, the container runs with a volume bound to the a-z-cloud
folder. This approach doesn't require you to install any dependencies other
than Docker Desktop on
Windows and Mac, and Docker Compose
on Linux.
-
Build the docker image
docker-compose build
-
Run the built image
docker-compose up
NOTE: You can run both commands at once with
docker-compose up --build
. -
Verify that the service is working.
Open your web browser and type
http://localhost:1313
in your navigation bar, This opens a local instance of the docsy-example homepage. You can now make changes to the docsy example and those changes will immediately show up in your browser after you save.
To stop Docker Compose, on your terminal window, press Ctrl + C.
To remove the produced images run:
docker-compose rm
For more information see the Docker Compose documentation.
