test(agent): pin Note/MarkdownNote materialization from agent add_node ops - #18363

…e ops Browser test drives two add_node host ops for the frontend-only Note and MarkdownNote classes and asserts the text box / rendered markdown appear with the right content, survive a tab switch, and survive a save + reload. Unit test pins the follower + materializer path for a virtual node whose positional widgets_values are stored opaquely by comfy-multi-player. Companion to Comfy-Org/comfy-cli#916 (lifts the add_node UI-only refusal). Linear: PM-983

reloadWithoutLocalWorkflow clears the open-tab state the workflow picker lists, so the saved workflow could never be picked after the reload and the cloud Playwright job timed out. Reload normally and instead assert the GET of the saved workflow file, the same proof the follower reload spec uses: with host subscribes refused, only that fetch can supply the two notes.

Current-head evidence review at 091084f1bcb059671e2e3c9c243ef4e6f44f0ef5: all review threads are resolved. The persistence assertion now refuses host re-subscribe before reload and waits for the exact userdata GET, while savedWorkflowContent() parses as unknown and validates through validateComfyWorkflow before exposing the saved workflow. Before the reload the persistence fake serves the saved workflow with the note text and markdown heading swapped for sentinel values, and the reopen asserts those values. The repository guidance forbids code comments outside curt JSDoc on exported APIs. The rationale they carried lives in the PR description: the reload step reopens through the agent picker rather than reloadWithoutLocalWorkflow because that helper drops the open tab the picker lists, and the unit test does not pin the full widget-value record set because createNodeFromPayload also registers a positional placeholder.

Verdict: partly superseded; the earlier five findings are addressed, but this PR still tests an implementation deleted from main.
- P1 A1 remains a pre-merge blocker. The new unit test imports four deleted modules, and current integration CI fails on those exact imports.
- The surviving requirement is agent-originated Note/MarkdownNote text surviving graph application, tab return, and saved-file reload. Preserve that behavior coverage on the current graph-API path. I recommend closing this branch in favor of a current-architecture test PR rather than restoring the deleted implementation.
- Eight P3 cleanup/assertion items are inline below. They are non-blocking and relevant only if these tests are carried forward.
Architecture and relevance
Reviewed head e38e40e against fetched main 22893e9. The head has advanced from the earlier coordinator snapshot eb0cde2.
#18700, merged as 888e079, removed agentNodeMaterializer, EcsFollowerAdapter, graphMutations, and inertPlacementPort. The added unit test still imports all four and invokes the old reconcile path. A conflict-free additive merge cannot make that test collect.
Current AgentCrdtProjection invokes LiveGraphApplier. Its opaque-widget handling and createNode positional configuration still make virtual-note text a relevant contract, but the old adapter and widget-store implementation assertions do not protect that path. I did not find a Note-specific opaque-widget case in liveGraphApplier.test.ts; that focused search does not establish that the entire repository lacks equivalent coverage. The browser round trip has useful distinguishing assertions after the sentinel fix. This is therefore partly superseded, not proof that all note coverage is redundant.
Port the useful behavioral cases to the current projection interface if this work continues. Do not restore the deleted layer merely to satisfy imports. No branch changes, closure, or approval were performed in this round.

- F1/F2, rejected as not introduced. Local Fallow reports complexity in
recordedWidgetValuesandexpectCanvasReplayed; neither function changed in this PR. These are separate from CI Fallow's four unresolved-import errors. - Keep the three unit behaviors when porting: incremental agent add, initial-frame mint, and empty positional values exercise distinct branches. Lenses included regression risk, boundary discipline, type idioms, no-comments, unit mock quality, and Playwright conventions. No additional ownership shard was needed.

gh pr diffpath-filter invocation was replaced by successful files-API reads. No required review tool remained unavailable.
…e subject of `agentNodeMaterializer.virtualNode.test.ts` cannot compile on `main`. It imports `reconcileAgentAdapters` from `./agentNodeMaterializer`, `EcsFollowerAdapter` from `./ecsFollowerAdapter` and `createGraphMutations` from `./graphMutations`, and all three modules were deleted by #18700 — the store-first apply path and its reconcile pass are gone, and their absence is now the invariant (KEEP-ALIVE #14, FORECLOSE #12/#13). Re-pointing this file is not a port: it asserts the mechanism the rewrite removed, so there is nothing left for it to characterize. This is what the four red checks at the previous head were — `lint-pr / typecheck`, `lint-pr / lint`, `lint-pr / repo-checks` and `fallow` all failed on those imports, and `test`, `preflight`, `lint-and-format` and `e2e-status` cascaded off them. It also retires DrJKL's P2 layer finding on this file outright rather than by argument: the complaint was that the file suppressed three workbench-to- renderer imports, which the repository's layer rule forbids. The file is gone, so the suppressions are gone. The browser half is untouched and is what this PR now is: `agentVirtualNoteNodes.spec.ts` plus its typed fixture data. It drives the host through `pushHostOps` and asserts visible node state, so it is behaviour-level and survives the rewrite unchanged. The preceding merge of `origin/main` is the other half of the repair: the branch was 902 commits behind, and a `pull_request` run builds the workflow from the merge ref, so `main`'s `lint-pr` job invoked `pnpm architecture:check --report` against a branch whose `tools/architecture/src/cli.ts` still rejected that flag.

Verdict: ready for human review
The obsolete-architecture blocker is addressed at 88a175b. The browser-only coverage remains useful on the current graph-API path. No remaining P1/P2 finding; eight earlier P3 items and one description correction are non-blocking.
Current changes and relevance
- 053202b, confirmed: merges main at 12254f2. The large inherited main diff is not this PR's own change.
- 88a175b, confirmed and A1 addressed: removes the obsolete unit file rather than restoring the adapter/materializer layer deleted by #18700. Current typecheck, repository checks and Fallow pass. Acknowledgment in the original thread.
- The effective PR delta against fetched main 9089105 is three browser-test files, with no runtime changes. The data and spec are unchanged from the previous reviewed head.
- The surviving case exercises real registered Note/MarkdownNote widgets through host operations, the current follower/projection, tab return, serialization and saved-file loading. Current projection integration tests overlap with positional-value handling but do not replace that complete browser path. I withdraw the prior closure recommendation now that the obsolete unit half is gone.

D1, P3: update the PR description to match the browser-only scope. It still lists the deleted agentNodeMaterializer.virtualNode.test.ts, its three cases, the old placeholder-record exclusion, and Unit test: 3 passed. Remove those current-coverage claims and replace the old materializer explanation with the current graph projection. Historical verification may remain if explicitly identified as historical. This is a description-only correction, not a request to recreate deleted mechanism tests.

The surviving browser case covers agent-added Note and MarkdownNote nodes through the current graph path, tab return, serialization and saved-file reopening.

Why
The In-App Agent could not add Note or Markdown Note nodes. Root cause was in comfy-cli:
add_noderefused every class inUI_ONLY_NODE_TYPES. Downstream already handles these frontend-only classes: the comfy-multi-player applier stores their positionalwidgets_valuesopaquely under__widgets_opaqueand round-trips them verbatim, and the frontend follower (useAgentCrdtFollower, which applies host frames to the live graph) creates the node so its constructor-madetextwidget carries the value.
