Welcome to UASB! We are redesigning Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) wastewater treatment systems to be cheaper, simpler to fabricate, and easy to implement to provide affordable wastewater treatment across the world. For more information, read our research reports or see our latest poster presentation from the 2018 NEGSWS conference.
Check out a Onshape model of our proposed UASB here and a model of the UASB that was built Summer 2019 here.

The Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) team has been designing, fabricating, and testing a gravity-powered wastewater treatment system for communities seeking an alternative to releasing waste directly into streams and rivers. Having utilized a large scale reactor at the Ithaca Wastewater Treatment Facility for the past few years, the team will now be focusing on developing lab-scale UASB reactors and researching ways to utilize the methane byproducts.
Note: The history of the team goes back as far as 2013; however, the current state of the team involves work done from Spring 2017 onwards. More information on lab scale research can be located on the AguaClara Google Drive both under "Active Subteams" and "Archived Subteams."
