Hi @Jackihio! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the desktop team. Sine is a third-party mod (or set of mods) for Zen Browser that adds features not yet built into Zen itself, like tab folders and advanced theming. Mods available in the Sine marketplace are separate from those on the official Zen mods page—some Sine mods aren’t listed on the official page, and vice versa. Issues with Sine mods (including bugs or missing features) are handled by the Sine mod creator, not the Zen Browser team, which highlights their independence from the core Zen project [source]. Mods on the official Zen mods page are community-made and go through an approval process before being listed, but users are still advised to use them at their own risk since they aren’t officially supported [source]. There’s no evidence that Zen performs security checks on Sine mods; the approval and vetting process only applies to mods on the official Zen mods page. There are known issues with mod management in Zen Browser, including problems uninstalling mods—sometimes mods remain installed or functional even after removal attempts. This can be caused by bugs or by having multiple tabs open to the mods page, which can interfere with mod installation and removal [source]. No documented malware or security incidents have been reported for either Sine or official Zen mods, but the general advice is to use all mods at your own risk. If you’re unable to remove Sine mods, it’s likely due to these known limitations or bugs in Zen’s mod management system. To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do? I cannot remove mods I downloaded from official zen page via sine. How do I fix it?
I have set "zen.browser.is-cool" as true and all the mods is under sine. only Nebula is from sine itself
What is sine and its mod actually? What I found in sine marketplace couldn't find in official zen mods page. Does Zen check the mod security before they publish to official zen mod page?
Does Zen check the sine mod too?
Any possible security issue? Though I have not been encountering any malware after utilising all of them for such a long period
