The standard new version checking facility should only notify about new regular releases. However, some users might be interested in prereleases, but definitely not all users. An interested user could somehow enable checking for prereleases too, which would then be offered as new versions.

However, considering the minimalistic design of the app, this would add more complexity. Therefore there are some questions regarding this possible feature:

  • Is it even a wanted/needed/beneficial feature?
  • If it is, how/where should this setting be presented?

Feel free to add your opinions and ideas.
