Hi @poutine-dejeuner, this depends on what you are trying to simulate. If you are just using plane wave sources and all objects in the simulation are uniform in the z-axis, then the results should be very accurate. If you have questions about your code feel free to post them here as well :) |

I know FDTDX is not made for 2D simulations but should I expect the suggested workaround (thin z axis dimension, periodic boundary) to be accurate? The FOM I get is way off compared to the one computed in Meep or Lumerical. Is this expected or should I look for an error in my code?
