Before publishing a new comp plan version, revenue operations leaders need to model its financial impact. Add a sandbox mode where admins can run a draft plan against historical transaction data and compare projected payouts vs. the current live plan.
Proposed behavior:
- "Simulate" button on any draft plan version triggers a sandbox calc run against a configurable historical period (e.g., last 12 months of transactions).
- Side-by-side comparison view: current plan vs. draft plan — total payout delta, per-rep payout delta, attainment distribution histogram.
- Highlight reps whose comp would change by more than ±10% (configurable threshold).
- Sandbox runs are isolated from live calculation history and do not generate statements or trigger workflows.
- Export sandbox results as CSV or PDF for finance review.

Unintended comp increases are the most expensive comp plan mistake. A what-if simulator catches them before rollout — this is a marquee feature that differentiates OpenComp from spreadsheet-based planning.
