Show token- and cents-cost of conversation

I really like having Claude right in Emacs via agent-shell! I'm using it with agent-shell-sidebar and it's a really productive setup.

One of the things I've gotten used to from other frontends is seeing a "cost" of the current conversation. I'd like to see an estimate of the cost of a conversation from within agent-shell too.

Thanks for filing and providing screenshots. This would be neat to have.

The tricky bit here is getting this token usage info. Without the agents making it available via ACP, it would be challenging for agent-shell to display accurate information. I haven't found anything in the spec, though maybe have a look around too https://agentclientprotocol.com/protocol/schema

Okay, thanks for the response and explanation! I'll see if the ACP folks will add this as metadata that gets bubbled back out. I think this can be closed until there's support in ACP for this!

Hello, looks like the session usage & context stats RFD was merged in ACP: agentclientprotocol/agent-client-protocol#316
Some tools are also already supporting it: anomalyco/opencode#12299
