Assessment complete. I've documented the current status and findings in announcement-visualization.html, which now renders the live announcement plus a "Current Status Assessment" panel.

Current Status (2026-08-07)

1. English content — ALREADY CHANGED (en/chat.json)

• Title/support/bullets were updated to the v3.75.0 theme (Cloud Services / Semble / Custom modes) in commit ddeff9529 (v3.75.1).
• ⚠ Typo found: en/chat.json:365 reads "<bold>Cloud Servides-</bold>" — should be "Cloud Services -".

2. Social links — ALREADY CHANGED (Announcement.tsx)

• X / Discord / Reddit were replaced with GitHub + Open VSX Registry (uses EXTERNAL_LINKS). REDDIT/DISCORD constants are still used by About.tsx.

3. Trigger — ALREADY CHANGED (ClineProvider.ts:255)

• latestAnnouncementId = "jul-2026-v3.75.0" (was "jul-2026-v3.72.0-moonshot-kimi-models-workflows").
• ⚠ Version mismatch: the extension is now at 3.77.4 (src/package.json:6) but the id is pinned to v3.75.0 — bump it if a new announcement should fire.

4. All 17 locale translations — ⚠ STALE, NOT UPDATED

• Every non-English locale (ca, de, es, fr, hi, id, it, ja, ko, nl, pl, pt-BR, ru, tr, vi, zh-CN, zh-TW) still contains the old v3.72.0 content: "Moonshot and Kimi Code providers", "Latest model support", "More reliable workflows", and the old support line (GitHub only, no Open VSX/tagline).
• scripts/find-missing-translations.js passes because it only checks key presence, not content drift — so the stale values are invisible to the validator.

5. Dead keys

• announcement.cloudAgents.* exists in all 18 locale files (e.g. en/chat.json:369) but no component renders it — confirmed via search. Candidate for cleanup.

6. Tests

• Announcement.spec.tsx uses mocked translations, so it's decoupled from actual locale content — no test changes needed for content edits.

Recommended next steps (awaiting your direction)

1. Fix the "Cloud Servides-" typo in en/chat.json:365.
2. Update the 17 stale locales' announcement.release.highlight1/2/3 and support to match the new English source.
3. Optionally remove the dead announcement.cloudAgents block from all locales.
4. Bump latestAnnouncementId if the announcement should re-show for v3.77.x.

The release announcement has been fully updated and the release workflow now curates it on every major/minor release.

What was done

1. Dropped <bold> tags from bullets

• The English bullets used <bold>...</bold> tags, but they're rendered via plain t() (not Trans), so they appeared literally as text. Removed them in en/chat.json.

2. Updated announcement content to the confirmed Top 3 (in all 18 locales)

• highlight1 — Cloud services removed, and stability fixed (faster, more reliable startup and remote connections).
• highlight2 — Semble & code-index made reliable (pre-bundled, checksum-verified, resilient codebase search).
• highlight3 — Custom modes upgraded (descriptions + bulk marketplace install).
• Also fixed the "Cloud Servides-" typo and updated the support line in all locales to match EN (GitHub + Open VSX + tagline).

3. Removed dead announcement.cloudAgents.* blocks from all 18 locale files — cloud services were removed, so this copy was orphaned.

4. Bumped the trigger — latestAnnouncementId is now "aug-2026-v3.77.4-cloud-semble-custom-modes", so the new announcement fires once on next launch.

5. Added announcement curation to the release workflow

• release.md step 7 now explicitly walks all four announcement layers (EN content, social links, trigger id, 17 locales), forbids <bold> in bullets, requires removing dead blocks, and calls out the missing-translations script's key-only limitation.
• release-reminder.yml now reminds the on-deck owner to curate the announcement banner.

6. Reports

• docs/release-changes-since-3.72.0.md — full prioritized report of changes since v3.72.0 (9 releases + 2 unreleased commits), with the proposed Top 3.
• announcement-visualization.html — updated to render the final announcement and a completed action checklist.

Validation

• ✅ All 18 chat.json files parse as valid JSON
• ✅ No leftover cloudAgents or <bold> in release highlights
• ✅ scripts/find-missing-translations.js — all locales complete
• ✅ Announcement.spec.tsx — 3/3 tests pass
• ✅ ESLint on ClineProvider.ts clean (suppressions file restored to avoid unrelated churn)
• ✅ Release-reminder workflow YAML parses
