Hubot doesn't listen carefully when you send a multiline message

For reasons that are unclear to me the following message by Elke https://xaop.slack.com/archives/C0GSFEUV7/p1501234484316927 didn't close the pizza order on July 28th. Some poking seems to indicate that the issue is that hubot doesn't see the full multi line message, although I can't pinpoint why this happens by reading the code (this may also be a slack related hubot issue).
