I see that a similar issue was reported in #989 but was not addressed.

When trying to close any Workbench project I get an error similar to:

(re.sonny.Workbench:5): re.sonny.Workbench-CRITICAL **: 08:18:17.359: Gio.IOErrorEnum: Trash portal failed on /home/ogarcia/.var/app/re.sonny.Workbench/data/re.sonny.Workbench/sessions/2025-02-19 08-16-34

deleteSession@resource:///re/sonny/Workbench/sessions.js:94:10
onCloseSession@resource:///re/sonny/Workbench/window.js:486:11

_init/GLib.MainLoop.prototype.runAsync/</<@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/core/overrides/GLib.js:263:34

I have other applications that create and delete files in my .var (such as Bottles) and no problems.

The truth is that I don't know what could be happening. Any ideas?

UPDATE: The only thing I can think of is that my .var is a bind mount from another location and has no trash.

Are you also a Fedora Silverblue 41 user?

UPDATE: The only thing I can think of is that my .var is a bind mount from another location and has no trash.

That's the most likely reason. As I hinted in the previous issue, this isn't a Workbench bug and there isn't anything I can do about it Please report with a reproducer to https://github.com/flatpak/xdg-desktop-portal
