Process Latest version?

Would it be possible to collect process version information so you could always compare the version of yours to the latest that was ever detected. SystemInformer could update the shared data to a single source of truth which any instance could compare against. I believe the software updating tool Software Informer may use this approach and it's a quick way to discover that there is a new version of any given process in your system. I've never seen anything that had more current process versioning information than system informer, but I'm not interested in using that product.
