state space representation

Hi,
I couldn't find any way to transform the list of regressors into a state space representation. I am relatively new to MISO/MIMO systems and not quite sure how to transform the differential equations of a MISO/MIMO system into a state space model. A Hint or a small example would be nice. If you know of an other library or a source on how to transform multiple dif equations into one state space model, I would really appreciate it.
