Hi @wienkers, great work on this package. I'm excited to try it out.
How feasible would it be to extend the methodology to support 4D tracking, i.e. with depth levels? Presumably you would need to add some anisotropy, e.g. having separate horizontal and vertical length scales for any filtering, but otherwise all of the area metrics should generalize to volumes (e.g. for overlaps)?
