So indeed the page is larger than the viewport.

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width">

Chrome is resizing the content to make it fit in the viewport. Firefox keeps it wide and doesn't allow horizontal scrolling.

It's part of my pile on to test and ask for a fix with Firefox. I'll do that seriously this week. I discuss about it last week with Jet (from Mozilla).

Also… whatwg/compat#62

The html element is 748×1654.5 pixels.

There is a

@media only screen and (min-width: 100px) and (max-width: 768px) and (orientation:portrait) {

html, body, nav {
	width: 748px !important;
	overflow-x: hidden !important;
	position: relative;
}

}

which is why we can't scroll horizontally when the content is wider than the viewport. And why the size is 748px.

So this is a double issue.

  1. The content doesn't get zoomed to be set to the size of the viewport. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1336332
  2. because of that and the overflow-x, Firefox runs into https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1336346

Note that the site specifies minimum-scale=1 so that browsers can't zoom in at all.
