Description
Describe the bug
You can consider this a “UX bug” 🙂
I found it confusing to have project-wide controls — like video aspect ratio and video cropping — next to the timeline controls — like add zoom, trim, music, etc. The timeline controls are specific to changes you make at specific times in the video.
Related, the “Crop” section in the editing sidebar is separate from the “Crop” action in the timeline controls, which leaves me confused about what is the difference between them, and why they are so far apart. For example, initially I only found the “Crop” controls in the sidebar and was frustrated that I could not control the cropping with more specificity, forced to use whole percentage values. By chance, I stumbled upon the “Crop” action in the timeline, which was exactly what I was looking for. To be honest, I don't understand the need for percentage-based cropping 🤷
Expected behavior
At the very least:
- Move the aspect ratio and crop controls to the editing sidebar, as they are global, project-wide controls.
- Ideally, place the crop controls together (the percentage-based + the visual cropping).
To consider:
- Remove the percentage-based cropping
