How to customize the Home path

My operating system is Windows. I want to customize the storage path for vite-plus (currently it defaults to the C:\\\xxx\.vite-plus folder). I found the environment variable "VP_HOME" in the repository and have set it. However, I'm not sure what to do next. Just to be safe, I haven't carried out any actions yet.

I'm not quite sure whether to simply move the old .vite-plus folder directly.

How should I proceed with the next step?

VP_HOME is the right environment variable for changing the Vite+ home directory.

On Windows I would do it in this order:

# set it for future shells
[Environment]::SetEnvironmentVariable("VP_HOME", "D:\\Tools\\vite-plus", "User")

# also set it for the current shell
$env:VP_HOME = "D:\\Tools\\vite-plus"

# recreate/update shims for the new home
vp env setup

Then open a new terminal and check that vp, node, etc. resolve through the new VP_HOME\\bin path.

If you do not care about the old cached runtimes/packages, you can leave the old .vite-plus folder alone or delete it after confirming the new setup works. If you want to preserve the cache, close terminals that are using Vite+ first, move the old folder to the new target path, set VP_HOME, and then run vp env setup again.

The main rule is: make sure VP_HOME is set before running Vite+ commands, because the shims and managed runtime lookup use that value at startup.
