Abnochem modules are applied to a single containment cell. However, the only way to know if one is already applied is to examine the console.
I believe this system could be implemented far better than it currently is, and since containment cells have plenty of empty space, I see no reason why we can't have a piece of machinery or something in place when a containment cell has this function installed.
