Run the master branch or the previous release, 2.1-beta3. Delete verthash.dat and start OCM. During verthash creation, click 'Update available' and then 'Back to wallet'. You will notice the progress bar skipping between two values for multiple processes of creating verthash.dat. Clicking 'Back to wallet' stops and restarts the OCM but doesn't seem to kill the previous running thread fully. Multiple processes of VerthashMiner have also been observed after clicking 'Back to wallet'.
