Cleaning up task list

I've been using the memory bank to plan, track and implement a major refactor of a complex feature. Once I was about halfway through the plan, enough work had been done, and the rest of the place was unnecessary. What is the correct way to clear out the remaining tasks and context for work that no longer needs to be performed?

I have the same question. In my case, the tasks file is getting too big, I'm wondering if there's a way to keep it smaller and/or remove content after it was implemented.

EDIT: Fixed it by asking to remove all duplicate and unnecessary information from the tasks file, reduced file from 10k LOC to 250
