umami - userAgent - custom device

I have a desktop app in nodeJs and I'm using umami node client to send data from server.

My question:

• umami rely on userAgent to detect some client information: platform, browser, (and probably some) device.
• is it possible to provide a custom device which would be parsed by umami server as Device field?

Example, where userAgent string match specifications:

const agentPlatform = "Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64";// umami: Windows 10/11
const agentDevice = "Xbox; Xbox Series X";// umami ignore it
const browserAgent = "Chrome/129.0.0.0 Safari/537.36";// umami: Chrome
const appAgentVersion = "SeaMonkey/2.7.1";// umami ignore it
const userAgent = `Mozilla/5.0 (${agentPlatform}; ${agentDevice}) ${browserAgent} ${appAgentVersion}`;

• in this sample agentDevice and appAgentVersion are not recognize by umami
• in this sample I would like a way to inject my own app+version with an improved umami server version able to parse it and store it as visit::device field. Is this improvement feasible? if yes I should create a dedicated ticket.

I'm trying to add umami node client to electron app, and using req::userAgent results in the following value:

`"userAgent":"Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) myapp-dev/0.0-localDev Chrome/120.0.6099.268 Electron/28.2.1 Safari/537.36"``

My tests shows that this userAgent value is not well recognized by Umami Cloud : this userAgent didnt produce page/event hit.

What I understand is that

• myapp-dev/0.0-localDev 🔴 didnt work
  whereas
• myAppDev/0.0.0 ✔️ works

=> having - in product name, 🔴 didnt work
=> having other things than dot and numericals in version side🔴 didnt work

• version : I may be ok with version but that's may introduce some discussions.
• product : but for product, it seems that RFC9110 introduce a sample with - : User-Agent: CERN-LineMode/2.15 libwww/2.17b3. so for me Umami may ebe able to parse a userAgent with a product name that includes -
