how do OS conditions work in .chezmoiscripts in twpayne/dotfiles?

Hey guys!
I just finished reading through all the doc pages and now I'm moving on to learn from existing chezmoi dotfiles repos. But looking at the naturally first one - twpayne/dotfiles - I can't figure out how here the distinction between the operating systems is done in home/.chezmoiscripts/. There are "darwin", "linux" and "windows" subfolders here. But there are nowhere .chezmoi.os conditions in the templates and the scripts in "darwin" directory aren't even templates. So I first thought it might be a convention that chezmoi looks automatically for OS like named subfolders in .chezmoiscripts. But putting scripts in both "darwin" and "linux" subfolders in .chezmoiscripts without any conditional logic makes them run both. Any ideas / hints?

Chezmoi will run all run_* scripts inside .chezmoiscripts unless they are ignored in .chezmoiignore.

That I know. The question was about linux, darwin and windows distinction in twpayne's dotfiles. There is no logic there for when to run linux scripts and for when to run darwin/windows scripts.

That's just a naming convention for the directories. You can name them anything you want.

ok, but how are the darwin scripts are run only on darwin and linux scripts only on linux when there is nowhere conditional logic?
