ANSI escape sequences not rendered

Describe the bug
ANSI escape sequences are not being rendered properly like they were in 0.12.3.

To Reproduce
This is easy to see on macOS looking at the output of brctl dump (assuming you have iCloud Drive enabled). run brctl dump | lnav and look for foreground or background (lots of other strings are wrapped in escape sequences too)

That's odd, it's working for me on 0.12.4 and the top-of-tree:

Interesting. I noticed The following is a rendered view of the content. Use :set-text-view-mode raw to view the raw version of this text at the top of the terminal and change to raw mode and the escape sequences render correctly. What is determining if the view mode is raw vs rendered?
