Rename Display Name

Hi team,
Thanks for this product!

Description:
In Active Directory Users & Computers (ADUC) there is an option to rename the Display name (the xxx between parenthesis)

We use the display name to fill in some useful indications.

I could NOT find a way to either fill in or rename this field using ONLY OpenRSAT

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• OS: Windows Server 2022
• Arch: w64
• OS Version: 21H2
• OpenRSAT Version: Release v0.4.153

Hello, thank you for this feedback.
That's true, there is not yet any option to fully rename a user from the ADUC view. You can only rename the name of the user by pressing F2 key on a selected entry. I'll look to add this button.
There is still an option to edit a displayName. Open the user's property page, go to the attributes tab, select the displayName attribute and click on the modify button. I know it's a bit longer than clicking on rename.

Thanks for the tip about pressing the F2 Key on a selected entry. I had'nt thought of that.

Interesting... It worked for me on a fresh installed windows 11... Can you take a look inside log file? Here are the logs: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\OpenRSAT-log\OpenRSAT.log

I could not find any logs there, I found only those files:

In OpenRSAT in my environnement:
Create user with OpenRSAT ok
Press F2, edit user and change display name
Double click on edited user error message as shown below:

Pressing ok here enters in somekind of loop and have to abort

Hello,
I found different case with an error loop. It seams to be two different issues, one for the error loop and one about updating some entries. I'm looking for a fix, you'll get a notification once done.

This commit (b295729) fix issue about invalid DN modification localy. I keep the issue open to look for other relative issues.
