Error message when Ethereum app not open on ledger

If you connect your wallet via metamask, but are signing on a Ledger hardware wallet, you get the following error if you don't have your Ethereum application selected on the hardware device and you click "sign" in metamask

Selecting the eth app on the device and trying again works. Expected behavior here would just be a more instructive error message.
