Trying to repoduce this, (py 3.12.10) in a dev environment but i can't even get that far due to other problems. Can i get some more info as, for example, OS (android, windows, *nux) etc. and if you are using a distro of the linux group, which one? Please elaborate.

Thank you, i have got some (parts of) logs already. It seems to be a *nux (distro) problem with the conversion.v file in addon_data. Not sure why because the used calls are all, on my machine (switched to 3.12.10, testing in a jupyter notebook) completely valid. So i need to take a deeper dive. The entire check will be deleted in the next big update, i will see if i can create a quick fix and test that on some distros.

I stopped using Kodi completely.

In last one year or more in Arch nothing works. It has nothing to do with Real Debrid saga, no other free, torrent addons work. Very few of them.

Switched to Jellyfin and related Apps.

In script.module.thecrew > lib > sources > init.py there is a deprecated function removed as of Python 3.12 (see python/cpython#98040)

module = loader.find_module(module_name).load_module(module_name)

this will cause the plugin to fail to get sources for builds using Python 3.12, such as the latest version of Kodi on FlatHub. This can be fixed by removing the old line and replacing with:

                spec = loader.find_spec(module_name)
                if spec is None:
                    raise ImportError(f"Module {module_name} not found")
                module = importlib.util.module_from_spec(spec)
                spec.loader.exec_module(module)

loader.find_spec was introduced in Python 3.4 in PEP-451 when loader.find_module was deprecated.

Applied this on my own affected installs as a workaround, but would be good to get this fix into the plugin officially at some point.
