Imagestream mapping

When the integrated registry receives a new image, it creates and sends an image stream mapping to {product-title}, providing the image’s project, name, tag, and image metadata.

Note

Configuring imagestream mappings is an advanced feature.

This information is used to create a new image (if it does not already exist) and to tag the image into the imagestream. {product-title} stores complete metadata about each image, such as commands, entry point, and environment variables. Images in {product-title} are immutable and the maximum name length is 63 characters.

The following imagestream mapping example results in an image being tagged as test/origin-ruby-sample:latest:
