Using tab_corr in an .rmd file

I am encountering an issue while using the 'tab_corr' function in an R markdown (.rmd) file.
Specifically when I knit the document to a Word output, the table generated by tab_corr does not display correctly. Instead of a nicely formatted table, the output appears as a list of line, rather than a table.

Additionally, when I try to use the file attribute, no file is written.
Am I missing something? Any solution to this problem?
