'active' class not added to active link in nav

I am not seeing the active class added to the active nav link on my site - wondering if anybody knows what might be the reason for this?

Fairly standard setup, i've tried a load of things to debug, changing nav around, copying other settings from mkdocs.yml, but not had any luck :/

Does it also happen if you remove the custom_dir setting? You have customizations / overrides in place, so it's impossible for us to know what might be wrong 😅

Thanks @squidfunk . Yes - I removed the custom_dir line completely from mkdocs.yml, but unfortunately still see the issue.

No minimal reproduction was provided, so we can't possibly know what does not work and why.
