A Question about ChatResponse and Generations

The ChatResponse class has a list of generations Generation. However, there is always only one element in the list and when getResult is called on ChatResponse, only the first generation is returned.

Here is an excerpt from the ChatResponse class

public Generation getResult() {
  if (CollectionUtils.isEmpty(this.generations)) {
    return null;
  }
    return this.generations.get(0);
}

So what is the point of the list?

You can retrieve the entire list of Generation objects using the getResults() method.
If you only need to return a single result, you can use getResult. If you need the rest as well, you can use getResults.

@dev-jonghoonpark Thanks for the answer!! It is possible to query multiple results using the getResults method. I just wasn't sure what use case this would be. But I looked further and found that it is possible for a model to return multiple answers. That depends on the model and its parameter setting. So I understand it now.
