Hi, I'm Marcel, an IT security professional and open-source developer from Germany.

I created WebSSH because I wanted a modern, self-hosted way to manage SSH and SFTP sessions directly from the browser without relying on a hosted control plane. What started as a personal project has grown into a feature-rich workspace with multi-user support, encrypted SSH keys, passkeys, OIDC, SFTP file management, session monitoring, backups, and a strong focus on security and privacy.

WebSSH is completely open source and I develop and maintain it in my spare time. That includes building new features, reviewing security implications, fixing bugs, testing releases, maintaining dependencies, improving documentation, and supporting users.
