There's a new whitepaper out this week showing a vulnerability in the power consumption and timing if PREFETCH instructions. AMD don't yet feel the need to do so, but the authors recommend the use of stronger address space isolation on AMD processors.

This may become a vulnerability which requires active mitigation, and thus detection of the mitigation.
