The new version PR for winget requires approval and merge by human community moderators. Personally, I recommend using Scoop instead, as its repository is automatically maintained and offers more third-party resources. |

It's now the third time where a new update has been released and over a week has passed since the first time the pop-up appears telling me to update, where trying to update via Winget it says there's no updates. Someone stated somewhere this was a manual process somewhere before which is why it takes to long and that we'd need an automated system to publish it to winget each update. Seems that's still now a thing.
On the contrary, I'd love an in-app updater, as the program can tell when it needs to update, so then it could just update itself, but the response to that thread was to use the Winget solution as it was the recommended method for Windows installs, but as described above this is not a functional method if the program keeps telling me day after day to update in-program with the pop-up, but each day I check in winget it still isn't available.
The last two times took over 2 weeks to show up as an update in winget, and as a daily user of SourceGit, I find the fact that I can't update to the latest version via the recommended install method infuriating, especially due to the constant pop-up telling me to update when I truly do want to, but I can't!
